On March 17, 2018, at 6:45 PM, Frank and Pieter stared in amazement at a clean, empty platter. We were at the final presentation of a butcher’s workshop they had participated in. Their hand-rolled frikandellen were the first to be devoured by the guests present. They looked at each other: they had reinvented a high-quality alternative to the most widely consumed snack in the Netherlands.
The idea for Le Frique was born.
After nearly a year of passionate research into recipes, and cooking, grilling, baking, and frying trials in the kitchen, an initial selection of variants was ready. Tastings at their own kitchen table with friends and acquaintances could invariably count on great interest. Once again, platters quickly emptied. These tastings yielded a number of flavor variations, two of which Frank and Pieter subsequently developed: the Le Frique classique and the Le Frique unique.
As a business administrator, Pieter has been to many places in the corporate sector. As a consultant, he worked in the advisory world and subsequently held various positions at a major publisher and a dairy manufacturer, traveling all over the world.
However, Pieter could not deny his roots; with two grandfathers in the baking industry, gastronomy has always been a defining factor in his life. Cooking, baking, and creating dishes himself put Pieter in an extremely good mood.
Music runs like a common thread through Pieter’s life. Prince, in particular, enjoys Pieter’s warm attention.
For Pieter, Le Frique is a logical step after his corporate career. He enjoys creating dishes himself and loves barbecuing, cooking, and baking. He is now using this passion to make Le Frique a success.

Frank (Tjep to his friends) spent most of his career in banking. As a financier of companies in the food sector, he was already professionally operating in an industry where his heart lay as a hobby: cooking and fine wines.
Obtaining his sommelier diploma, providing catering for parties, taking food courses, and doing a great deal of experimenting in the kitchen himself.
The soundtrack of Frank’s life is defined by the great names in jazz and related musical genres. Frank himself has been behind the drums since he was 13, which he believes he plays quite skillfully. Frank and his band can be heard quite regularly at various parties and events throughout the Netherlands.
With the founding of Le Frique, Frank is realizing one of his big dreams: working professionally in the gastronomic field on a beautiful and honest product that makes people happy.
